Where do I start if I want to get my CDL?

You are required to complete the enrollment process and obtain your CDL Class A Learners Permit prior to the start of the program. The enrollment process includes passing a pre-enrollment drug screening test and obtaining a valid DOT medical certificate / card.

How long is the training at Excel CDL?

On average, you will be ready for your exam in 6-8 weeks. We offer several programs to find the one that works best for you.

Do you have manual and automatic tractor trailers?

Yes, we have both available. The trucking industry has a demand for both, so we have both manual and automatic tractors for you to choose from.

Are you a licensed school and are your instructors licensed?

Yes, we are a licensed school with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicle. All instructors are licensed by the RMV.

Do you train MA residents only or can you train people from other states?

We can train people from any state to get their CDL. You will train and test in Massachusetts and the state RMV/DMV where you are from will accept the testing results.

How many people do you train at one time?

We keep the classes small, so you get the most hands on and behind the wheel driving time. On average, we have 4 students in a training program.

Do you offer financial aid or student loans?

Sorry, currently we do not offer any students loans or financial aid.

Do I need any prior experience?

No, you do not need any prior experience. We will teach you starting with the basics and build your knowledge and experience throughout the program. Don't worry, we all started the same way!

If I use an automatic vehicle, will I have a restriction on my CDL license?

Yes, if you use an automatic tractor, the RMV will add an automatic restriction on your CDL license.
