EXCEL CDL DRIVING SCHOOL offers professional CDL Class A training programs. We are located in Tyngsboro, MA and offer training for both Massachusetts and New Hampshire residents. At Excel CDL, you will receive the foundation for a rewarding career in the trucking industry and will be trained by a highly qualified instructor to prepare you for your commercial driver license exam.

All CDL Programs Meet the New Federal Requirements

All our training programs meet the new federal requirements of the Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT). You will receive the curriculum outlined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration while preparing to take your CDL exam. Once you have successfully completed Excel CDL's training program, you will be entered into the federal database by our administrative staff. Excel CDL Driving School is fully licensed by the Commonwealth of MA and the Registry of Motor Vehicles.

EXCEL CDL DRIVING SCHOOL is conveniently located 1/2 mile off Exit 88 (Westford Rd) on Rte 3 in Tyngsboro, MA. Our classroom and administrative office is located at 164 Westford Rd Unit #11 in Tyngsboro. The CDL training course for the hands-on training, driving, and basic control skills is located at 437 Middlesex Rd in Tyngsboro (next to the Pheasant Lane Mall).

Smaller classes means more wheel time for you

By keeping the classes small, every student will receive the maximum amount of "behind the wheel time" while at Excel CDL. With the lowest student to instructor ratio (4 students to 1 instructor on average), our programs will provide ample amount of driving time and personalized training to produce the best results from each student in our school.

My Background

My name is Thomas Richard, owner of EXCEL CDL DRIVING SCHOOL LLC. As a retired State Trooper and CDL examiner in Massachusetts, I have over 25 years of experience in the CDL industry conducting exams. With my CDL background, I offer the knowledge and skills that will assist you in preparing to pass the CDL exam and start your career in the trucking industry.

Opened September 2023

Excel CDL Driving School opened in September 2023. As a retired State Trooper of the Massachusetts State Police, Tom saw a need for educated, well-trained CDL drivers across the nation. With having over 25 years of CDL testing experience and administering road tests to thousands of CDL drivers, he recognized the importance of a driving school that offers small personalized classes.
